Dear OLC Community,

Please read the message below from OLC School Principal, Mr. Kevin Varner:

Dear Parents,

Good afternoon.  I am writing today to personally invite you to join us for the OLC Auction: Evening of Awesomeness on April 27th at The Gilmore. We are excited to celebrate the evening with our generous sponsors and all of you.  It will be a night of good food, beverages and memories to last a lifetime.

For the last fifteen + years, the auction has belonged to the OLCEF.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised to support our school, faith formation and other parish adult formations.  For the first time ever, this year 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit Our Lady of Consolation School.

The success of this event is crucial for the financial health of the school.  This year’s (23-24) budget includes income of 65K from the auction.  This pays for the lights, supplies, teacher/staff salaries and much, much more.  Obviously, our goal is to raise the 65K and then some!

We have a few “special” projects that we would like to move forward on if we are able to raise more than the budgeted 65K.  With the School Board’s assistance, we have done extensive research into adopting a school therapy dog.  We actually already have a dog in mind! If all things go well with training, we hope to welcome Beau Petersen as a certified therapy dog, to the OLC staff this coming fall.

We are also in desperate need of a new playground dedicated to the littlest cougars on campus (ages 2-5). We hope to share plans and renderings of this new space at the auction.   A couple other projects include “Theology of the Body Magazine” subscriptions for all school families and a couple new specials for middle school students including digital citizenship, health and personal finance.

Please consider purchasing your tickets to An Evening of Awesomeness today (ticket prices will increase Friday, April 12th).  We have tons of awesome silent and live auction items up for bid.  Invite friends and family, the more the merrier and the better our success.  Looking forward to celebrating with you soon!
