Learn More about Our New Ambo

The new ambo was blessed during the Saturday, August 1 Mass.

It was donated by Sandro and Ana Aganovic. The custom wood Ambo was crafted by James and Renee of Renjam WoodArtistry, LLC. It features the imagery of the sower spreading the seed that is the Word of God, as well as the fruit of the vine that the Word produces.

The ambo is the elevated place within the sanctuary where the Word of God is proclaimed, not to be confused with the pulpit which is used for preaching. Just as the altar is the place where the Eucharistic sacrifice takes place, the ambo is the table at which we gather to feast upon the Word during the Liturgy of the Word. The word ambo itself derives from a Greek term meaning mountain or elevation. Thus, the ambo is the mountaintop from which we proclaim the Good News.
