Over the past 40+ years this group of holy women has been studying Scripture in order to grow in faith so we can lovingly serve the Lord according to His will. Our studies are as varied as the hundreds of Scripture books we have used. Currently, we are studying THE GOSPEL OF MARK, from Ignatius Press.
In addition to learning more about our faith, we are a “prayer warrior” group, praying unceasingly for the many
intentions of our world, our country, our community, and our parish–praising and thanking God for our numerous blessings and asking for grace and healing for those in need.
Our bible study ladies put our faith into practice by participating in several Christian Service endeavors. Together we can help those in need with contributions of time, talent, and treasure. Here are a few examples:
- GOD’S KITCHEN–Every fifth Tuesday of the month we prepare and serve dinner at our neighboring parish, St. John Paul II, in Cedar Springs. Neighbors who need a free dinner out are served with joy.
- LAYETTE BASKETS–Joining with OLC’s Respect Life Ministry, we collect a variety of baby items needed for new moms who are clients of North Kent Connect. A basket is assembled personally for each expectant mom and delivered to NKC.
- BINGO AT BISHOP HILLS–A group of us join the residents at Bishop Hills on Wednesday evenings at 6:15pm to play bingo and share conversation and smiles.
