Blessed be the name of the Risen Lord! The OLC/Haiti Connection ministry celebrates serving Haiti for 10 years now! These past four years have made it increasingly difficult to help out due to the gangs and violence that is crippling Port-Au-Prince but that has a ripple effect on the whole country. The people live in continual fear, severe hunger and the inability to better an already dire situation.

Still, with your continued prayer and financial help, we are working on supplying some 20 computers for the school, updated solar power and internet to St. Jacques to help bring them an education that they could only dream about. The computers are already loaded with thousands of books filled with information in English, French, Spanish and Creole. They cover major subjects like math, science, literature and so much more. This additional educational tool will enrich the lives of each and every child.

Our Haitian friends are so glad that we have not forgotten them and feel Christ’s love every time we reach out to help them on their feet. May His love flow through our mission for many years to come! We generally meet 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Guadalupe Room.

Many of us have children who are struggling to embrace their Catholic faith or have left the church entirely. Like St. Monica, as mothers we persevere in prayer for their joyful return to full unity with the Catholic Church. We are not a support group or a self-help group. No sensitive information is shared. We believe that by coming together weekly, uniting our hearts and voices praying together, we can bring strength and joy to each other. We want to encounter God through prayer for ourselves and our children.

Join with other mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers, Godmothers, etc., as we pray to grow in holiness and humility, and for our children’s faithful return to the Catholic Church. We meet each Thursday from 7-8 pm in the church. Bring a rosary and an open heart.
